In the Fall Semester 2015, the chair collaborates with the design studio of Ass. Prof. Dirk Hebel on the ‚School Project Cambodia‘. Designing a building in rural Cambodia involves creating a comfortable environment at a low cost with the highest possible efficiency, especially in terms of materials and energy. Therefore, students will need to familiarize themselves with local building materials and
techniques to be able to transfer this knowledge into new layouts, construction techniques and substantially, new supply systems for water and energy. Not only the building itself but also its supply systems have to be designed to adapt to local preferences, while improving their performance to provide a higher level of comfort.
