The Zero Carbon Buildings Lab – initiated by the Chair of Architecture and Building Systems – functions as both a showcase of their research results and as a research infrastructure and service environment for future projects. It is currently being constructed on the Hoenggerberg Campus next to ITA offices and the RFL. The building will support research teams on their journey of technology development in Architecture. Once completed, new lab will provide a state-of-the-art infrastructure for research on building systems and components, from early proof-of-concept validation to system demonstration. Focus areas include building envelope and components, HVAC systems and control software as well as research on user acceptance and experience.
