FAB10Barcelona is a one week event focusing on open and accessible technologies that will change the world. It will gather the Fab Lab Network and the citizens of Barcelona to make it a FAB City. FAB10Barcelona will gather the international Fab Lab community which has more than 350 laboratories based in more than 40 countries in the world, and will host the FAB Festival and Fab City Symposium, open to all the citizens of Barcelona. Fabkids has been part of the daily program. Its is a new educational system implementing a learning by doing methodology using the latest technologies of digital fabrication. Developed for the Fab10 Conference „From Fab Labs to Fab Cities“ 60 young Teenagers between the age of 8 and 16 had the possibility to explore their creativity through 5 different workshops starting from 3d modelling/printing passing through circuits as well as milling, laser cutting molding & casting. In collaboration with the City council of Barcelona and the Fab Foundation there is a great potential of how school and education systems can be improved and updated.
