Shape Memory is an alloy that “remembers” its original, cold-forged shape: returning to the pre-deformed shape when heated. This material is a lightweight, solid-state alternative to conventional actuators such as hydraulic, pneumatic, and motor-based systems. Shape-memory alloys have applications in industries including medicine and aerospace.
The proposed system is an arduino based facade-system with a light sensor that rotates according to the sun position. Through that its possible to provide an energy-sufficient facade that doesn't rely on any kind of mechanical systems. |
